The expression draws a parallel with the custom of the spring time Easter egg hunt observed by many in the Western nations, but actually is derived by the practice of the last Russian imperial family's tradition of giving elaborately jeweled egg-shaped creations by Faberge’ which usually contained hidden gifts themselves. Easter eggs are undocumented features available by finding hidden links within the various menus found on a DVD. These hidden eggs can be found in a number of movies including new and old releases much like “Hidden Mickey’s” can be found all around Disneyland. The 2007 British action comedy film entitled Hot Fuzz contains a second disc with several hidden Easter eggs. Once you have done that, and then press UP, DOWN, RIGHT and LEFT.
