Peggle Perfection Ready, Aim, Bounce!

Like most inventions, Peggle started with a simple thought. The Peggle group desired to make a game that would be similar to the big Japanese hit of the colorful but chaotic slot machine game called Pachinko.  When you play Pachinko, you control the flow of balls that constantly fall from the top of the slot machine. The goal is to land all of the balls into the bucket at the bottom of the screen, which basically means a jackpot.  You do this by trying to have the balls survive a variety of obstacles and barriers.  However many balls do not land in the jackpot then drop into a tray.  The tray pays out more balls and a chance to win special prizes.  Peggle is very similar to Pachinko.  When playing Peggle, your goal is to clear the orange pegs from 55 whimsical levels as 10 fanciful imaginary teachers guide you toward Peggle victory. You have the ability to use mystical magic powers to rack up huge bonus points and make amazing shots that you will smile about for weeks. During the course of this game, you are able to get bonus points through procuring Peggle Easter eggs.  Keep on the look out for some of these eggs because they are hidden inside the strategy guide that will give you some cheat codes to use while playing Peggle.  If you can not figure out how to access the Easter eggs, you simply move the mouse pointer over (careful not to click on) the following:  Duel, Challenge, Replays, and Quick Play.  By moving your mouse over these, you will be allowed into a special screen and given the cheat codes to assist you during your Peggle Play.

It many not seem this way at first glance, but Peggle is full of math problems. Not the typical story problems of math that a fifth grader is used to, but more of a geometry type of problem solving.  This game is terrific for older kids for it challenges their mathematical minds and strengthens their problem solving abilities.  Getting hints from the Peggle Easter egg will only give them certain boosts to get to a different level, but will not give them all of the answers they need to complete Peggle.  That thinking must be left to them and them alone!
